Group Dynamics

Everyone has a role in my group of closest friends. Cody Swinkles is deffiantly the leader of the group. He states his own opinions and everyone seems to follow what he says. He also solves a lot of the conficts in the group and that's why I consider him the leader. My friend Deion Vandenberg is deffiantly the "Playboy" of the group meaning that he tells jokes and does random things that makes everyone laugh even if they are in a bad mood. Everytime Deion is around, everyone seems to be in a good mood. T.J. Murphy is another one of my close friends and I consider him the information giver because he always has somthing interesting to share with everyone. Whenever I need to know somthing, T.J. usually knows what to say. Last but not least there is Zach Schreiber. I consider Zach an information seeker because he always is eager to find out what his next move is. He tends to ask everyone questions all the time because he just likes to know everything about everyone. My role in the group is probably the compromiser because I will drop anything to help any of my friends out. I will change my plans just to help out any of my friends. All together, I think it is a good thing that we all have different roles because we harmonize together evenly when we are all together.

Response to Mean Girls

 I see the conflict theory throughout the whole movie of Mean Girls. In the movie there are many different social groups that seem to be separated by popularity, gender, race, appearance, etc.  In the movie, conflict theory takes part by causing a lot of tension between the girls while they try to figure out who wrote the burn book. The movie also shows how badly the girls treat each other. In society, socialization may not be as bad as it is in this particular movie, but it can result within a conflict theory. In the end, the girls end up confessing to one another about personal problems and that shows that they are actually trying to solve a conflict by speaking their minds in specific situations.

1.) I'm more of a hands on learner.  I pick up on things better by doing them. Long lectures don't do justice for me at all because I can't seem to focas by just listening. I would rather be involved in what I'm learning because it keeps me interested.

2.) The NF personality doesn't do as well in school, they learn better when people use metaphors. For example, say you're assigned to read a chapter from your science textbook. An NF learner must read about the main points and examin diagrams/pictures before they actually can read and understand the whole chapter.Also while reading, NF learners should take notes so it is easier for the individual to remember what they read. Taking notes is one of the best things a NF learner can do for themselves because they have a hard time reading, and remembering exactly what they read.

3.) By takeing teachers long, boring lectures and turning them into metaphors in my head, it helps my learning become more successful. I've learned that takeing notes while teacher's lectures or while reading really improves my learning. Also, pictures and diagrams help me see the whole picture of what I am learning and puts my mind in a new perspective towards the subject.
